Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SpeedyHandy mobile application and the website at www.speedyhandy.com (together, the "Service"). By downloading, registering for or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About SpeedyHandy
SpeedyHandy is a technology platform that helps customers discover and book independent home service professionals ("Handymen"). SpeedyHandy is not a handyman, contractor or employer of Handymen.
The service agreement for any job is between you and the Handyman you book. Handymen are independent providers who set their own availability and perform the work. We facilitate discovery, scheduling, communication and payment, and we may assist in resolving complaints, but we are not responsible for the workmanship itself.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts.
- You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information, and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.
- Notify us immediately at zheng_yanhui@hotmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
3. Bookings and pricing
- When you submit a booking you are requesting a service at the address, date and time you specify.
- Prices shown in the app are in Singapore dollars and include any platform fee disclosed at checkout. Additional charges may apply where the scope of work differs from what was described, or where parts and materials are required; any such charge must be agreed with you before the extra work starts.
- A booking is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation in the app. Availability is not guaranteed until then.
- You are responsible for providing safe, lawful access to the premises, and for disclosing known hazards (for example live wiring, asbestos, or restricted access).
4. Payments
- Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. By paying in the app you authorise the charge for the agreed amount.
- You must use a payment method you are authorised to use. Failed or reversed payments may result in suspension of your account.
- Receipts are available in the app after a job is completed.
5. Cancellations and refunds
- You may cancel free of charge before the Handyman has been dispatched or has begun travelling to your address.
- Cancellations made after dispatch may incur a call-out fee, which will be shown before you confirm the cancellation.
- If a Handyman does not arrive, or cannot complete the agreed work, you may request a refund in the app. We will review the request with the Handyman and respond within 5 business days.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer.
- Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003.
6. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the job, including photos where helpful.
- Ensure someone aged 18 or over is present, or that safe access is arranged, at the agreed time.
- Treat Handymen with respect. Harassment, discrimination, threats or unsafe conduct are grounds for account termination.
- Do not ask a Handyman to perform work outside the booked scope, or any work that requires a licence they do not hold.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to request illegal work.
- Circumvent the platform to avoid fees, or solicit a Handyman to work off-platform for a job introduced through SpeedyHandy.
- Post false reviews, impersonate another person, or create fake bookings.
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data, probe or scan our systems, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Copy, scrape, resell or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our written permission.
8. Reviews and content
You may submit ratings, reviews and photos. You keep ownership of your content, and you grant SpeedyHandy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use that content in connection with the Service. We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive or that infringes another person's rights.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics and logos, is owned by SpeedyHandy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written consent.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant the quality, timing or outcome of any work performed by a Handyman.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SpeedyHandy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold SpeedyHandy, its officers, employees and agents harmless from any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if your conduct creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via the Delete Account page. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity — will continue to apply.
14. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be notified in the app or by email and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
