Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026 · Effective: 24 October 2026

SpeedyHandy ("SpeedyHandy", "we", "us" or "our") operates the SpeedyHandy mobile application and the website at www.speedyhandy.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices you have.

We handle personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA"). By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

In short: we collect only what we need to match you with a handyman and complete your booking. We never sell your personal data. You can request access to or deletion of your account at any time — see Delete Account.

1. Who we are

SpeedyHandy is a home services marketplace based in Singapore. For the purposes of the PDPA, SpeedyHandy is the organisation responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Personal data we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account details — name, mobile phone number, email address and password (stored in hashed form).
  • Service address — the address where the job is to be carried out, and any access notes you add.
  • Booking content — the service category, description of the problem, photos you upload, preferred date and time slot.
  • Communications — messages you send to your handyman, to our support team, or feedback and ratings you leave after a job.
  • Referral information — a referral or share code, if you choose to enter one.

2.2 Information created when you use the Service

  • Order history — services booked, job status, amounts charged and payment status.
  • Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language setting, and a push-notification token.
  • Log data — IP address, timestamps and basic diagnostic information used to keep the Service secure and working.

2.3 Device permissions

The app asks for the following permissions only when a feature needs them. You can refuse or revoke any permission in your device settings; features that depend on it may then not work.

  • Camera and photo library — to attach photos of the problem and to set a profile picture. Photos are uploaded only when you choose to submit them.
  • Location — to help you pick your service address on a map and to show nearby availability. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Notifications — to send booking updates, job status changes and messages from your handyman.

3. Why we use your personal data

  • Create and manage your account, and verify your phone number.
  • Match your request with a suitable handyman and enable them to carry out the job at your address.
  • Process payments, issue receipts and handle refunds.
  • Send service messages such as booking confirmations, reminders and status updates.
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes between customers and handymen.
  • Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve features, performance and reliability.
  • Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent (for example, for marketing messages). You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.

4. How we share personal data

We do not sell personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

  • Handymen / service providers — the assigned professional receives your name, service address, contact number, job description and photos. They are only permitted to use this information to complete your booking.
  • Payment and SMS providers — third-party processors that handle payment authorisation and one-time passcodes. They receive only what is necessary to perform that function.
  • Infrastructure and analytics providers — hosting, storage and crash-reporting vendors acting on our instructions under confidentiality obligations.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where we are required by law, court order or a regulatory request, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
  • Business transfers — if we merge with or are acquired by another entity, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by our third-party payment partners. We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes on our servers. Our payment partners handle card data in accordance with PCI DSS requirements and their own privacy policies.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law:

  • Account data — while your account is active, and for up to 30 days after you request deletion, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Booking and transaction records — retained for up to 5 years where required for tax, accounting, dispute resolution and fraud-prevention purposes.
  • Support conversations — retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction.
  • Log and diagnostic data — retained for up to 90 days.

7. Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account from the app, or by emailing zheng_yanhui@hotmail.com. When your account is deleted we remove your profile, service addresses, saved photos and push tokens, and anonymise retained transaction records. Requests are normally completed within 30 days. Full details are on the Delete Account page.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by the PDPA.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your rights under the PDPA

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you and information about how it has been used or disclosed.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Withdraw consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, email zheng_yanhui@hotmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.

11. International transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Singapore. Where we transfer personal data overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.

12. Marketing communications

We may send you promotional messages only where you have consented. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message, in your app notification settings, or by emailing us. Service messages about an active booking are not marketing and cannot be switched off while a job is in progress.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
